高先生は触媒化学・無機固体化学研究の第一人者で、本学の招きにより応用化学科に滞在されます。今回、「金属酸化物触媒上のCH4/CO酸化反応への表面修飾・格子欠陥の影響」という表題で公開講演を行い、北京理工大での研究成果を紹介して頂きます。学生諸君を含め、多数ご参加ください。なお、講演は日本語で行われます。

Effects of surface modification and crystal defects on CH4/CO oxidation over the metal (Mg, La, La-Sr-Co, La-Mn, Ce-Cu) oxide catalysts

Partial dissolution and re-growth of crystallites is proved to be an effective method to modify surface layer of MgO and La2O3, by which an improved catalytic activity for methane oxidation is obtained.
Perovskite-type mixed oxides La1-xSrxBO3 (B = Co, Mn) have crystal lattice defects both in the bulk phase and on the surface layer. Since the crystal defects are involved in activation of gaseous oxygen, a correlation of catalytic activity with crystal defects is discussed.
In addition, formation of interface complex Ce-O-Cu on the CeO2/CuO catalysts is demonstrated by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) measurements. The Ce-O-Cu structure would be catalytically active center for preferential oxidation of CO as proposed in literatures.
